BX asked me to write this here cos it’s interesting. From what I learnt in my elective, in The Matrix, the world is controlled by machines and they use humans as electrical and thermal generators. So how was the electrical energy generated? The matrix, a computer programme that generates simulations is jacked into the human at the interneurons (or is it the sensory neurons I never really knew cos I didn’t know where the arrow in the notes was pointing at). The brain perceives and interpretes the simulation as real and kind of generates a responce to the simulation which goes to the motor neurons (or whatever I can’t remember) but the matrix intercepts the signals before the body actually does the action so it kinda forms a closed circuit and you get electricity since the signals are actually electrical impulses. Something like that. If I remember it rightly. Cool right. And there’s this other cool part when Neo was trying to jump across the building but he failed and fell and when he was back in reality he was bleeding. So he asked Morpheus if he died in the matrix will he be dead in reality. And Morpheus replied something the sounded really philosophical, “the body can’t survive without the mind (or was it brain)”. Anyway my prof says what Morpheus said is true because if the brain receives a signal saying that you are dead (which is what the matrix does, generate stimulates for the brain), it will react accordingly by shutting down the bodily functions so you really end up dead. But the bleeding part won’t actually happen. He shouldn’t be bleeding. Or something like that. Anyway I never really appreciated the show until the science bit was explained to me.

hahahaha. i din’t realise the template was the same! i’ll change to something different later. i was using a super classic layout which made me stir away from doing it justice so i decided to change to something more decent. hahahaha.
